Default Fat Bob brake upgrade?

Afternoon everyone. I have a 2008 Fat Bob. Brake fluid has been done recently and pads are good, low miles with 7500 on the bike.

I come from sport bikes and some track days. I personally think this bike stops really poorly (and I'm sure the extra 350lbs contribute to that).

I've seen caliper brackets from Speed Merchant to use sportbike calipers, a little spendy but was wondering if anyone has tried them and what the results are. Are there any Master Cylinders that can be swapped over easily and fairly inexpensively?

I still keep an R1 in the stable, and going from bike to bike can be a been unnerving when I'm used to braking on the R1.

Hey jjminch! Did you ever get that 30T done?

I kinda went a pricy way with my brakes, bought Matric composite rotors and Lyndall Xtreme pads - works great for me, a smooth controlled braking that really can put the bite on if you keep pulling.

I would try a better friction material before swapping out the entire system.

i'd try steel lines and lyndall pads first.

i used
Goodridge fatbob stainless steel line kit 03-1120 (~$120) - Goodridge Econoline Brake Line Kit Front fat bob amazon may say it doesn't fit... it does
Lyndall Racing Z-Plus Front Brake Pads for 08-up Softail and Dyna 7256-ZPLUS (2 X $44.95) - http://www.easternperformance.com/ly...-and-dyna.html

Yep,It really depends how bad its irritating you and how much you want to spend to fix the issue.

Unfortunately I never got to the 30T. Same month I wanted to meet up with you last year, I had to relocate to Atlanta permanently. Appreciate the input on the pads and rotors.

I've done braided lines on all my other bikes, but was under the impression the Fat Bob already came with them. Am I wrong in that assumption or why did you change them then?

Appreciate the pad info and might just give the that route a shot.

As far as pricing, I'd like to stay under $300. I'm just used to being able to use cheap take off parts off different bikes to upgrade components. Plus I want to save some funds for a suspension upgrade at some point.
