Now with the Fairing crowd...
Got turned on to the Phil Birch "Rocket" fairing through other Dyna threads, and emailed Phil for more info. After his quick response I placed my order on May 4 for the gloss black model (of course!) and the fairing arrived today. Fairing arrived from Holland fully intact and without blemish, as it was wrapped and packed safely and securely in a heavy duty box. Phil said mine is the first to come to the USA.
Hardware and even a couple of tools are included with the fairing, as well as a page of hand-written instructions, no doubt scribed by the maker himself. No pics are included, but the install is so straight-forward that there is hardly any chance for error/confusion, and doesn't take a whole lot of time to mount/bolt everything up. The fairing itself is made of fiberglass, and feels very sturdy. The fit is spot on - no grinding, filing, or cutting required. The gloss black finish is also very good and blends well with the Harley OEM "Vivid Black" paint of my FB.
I will take it for a shake-down cruise tomorrow, but I don't expect a dramatic change in wind blast protection. I can live with that, as I mainly got the fairing to tidy up the front end a bit.
Here are pics:
Thanks for looking - ride safe!

Rad DF! Looks like a very well thought out mod list, and the fairing adds an even cleaner look to it... Flows nice.
I was not a fan of fairings. That is, until I rode with one. Once I hit 60mph, I was sold. My 1/4 fairing added a BIG step up in highway stability, but still gives me the perfect amount of wind.

O-town I guess I missed this thread. I was digging up your albums for some inspiration and stumbled on this. Looks great, much nicer fairing than the Doug model.
I've always liked your bike and even more so now. I keep going back and forth on whether or not to paint mine. I like the ease of maintenance of denim paint. The first few scratches/scuffs bothered me when new but now I look at them and they kinda each have their own story. Every time I wash it though and it's all wet I think about how nice it'd look with clear coat. Maybe on its 10th birthday. .

I agree - the denim looks nice and I always loved it, until I owned one. Sure, its easy to wash, but if you do have a scratch or nick, you can't buff it out...and touchups are possible, but impossible to get it to blend nicely...
As for your console - what did you do to get the wrinkle coat look? Mine is chrome and in the sun is blinding, so I have been kicking around PC or plastidip, just haven't gotten the motivation or ***** to actually do it yet.
