Default Mag wheels

I found some mag wheels and they came off of a 1998 dyna super glide. I believe they are 3/4" (not 100% sure if they are 3/4") axle size and my 07 streetbob has a 1" axle. The question I'm asking is Could I press out the 3/4" bearings and install 1" bearings?

Yes. There are bearings and/or conversion kits for that. The 98 likely has tapered rollers in it. Converting to 1" sealed ***** will (I think) require a new inner spacer as well as the bearings and axle spacers..

No

yes, they are 3/4" but also Tapered Roller Bearings ("Timkens"), not Sealed Ball bearings...Different O.D.

There are sealed ball bearings out there that have the same smaller OD as the Tapered bearings but only 3/4" ID...none for 1"/25mm ID.

Default They're Smaller..................

Let's not forget that the earlier then 2006 wheels used a smaller rear tire then what is on the current bikes. "Anything is doable at a price".

You sure mulithdrdr? I'm pretty sure my hubs (from a 2000 XL, I believe. Bought used.) were originally tapered and I pressed in All-***** sealed bearings. I'd have to measure the counterbore. I believe the bearings were 42mm OD x 21mm W x .75" ID

All-***** has a nice chart on their site. I posted a link in another thread somewhere here... I'm on the road or I'd sit down and search for it.

Also is it even worth it or will it just be really pricey?

Yeah...
2000-2007 (only to 2006 on Softail fronts) = Sealed Ball Bearings 3/4" & 1" ID (where applicable) x 21mm Wd x 52mm OD
THEN
2008-later (and 2007-later softail fronts) got 25mm ID x 15mm Wd x 52mm OD

(btw i'm Not grouping Springers in the breakdown above)

Tapered roller bearings have an outer race OD of 1-25/32" (1.781") or (45.24mm)

You're a fan of St. Charles...look up 2000 sportster

OK. I believe you. I know these used hubs have the larger sprocket register bore diameter. Makes sense they'd also have larger OD bearings. I just thought I read that they all had the same OD. Must have been just the 1" and 25mm axles.
