You should be able to. I have a 90/90/21 Avon Roadmaster on my wideglide, and that's supposed to be the largest available in that size.

Don't feel bad, man; I did the same damn thing, tossed a 6mm at it but in true HD fashion mixing and matching SAE and metric those are actually 1/4" allen, the nut is 1/2". 6mm is .236, close but no cigar. I had to replace one of those fender bolts the first time I tried to break them loose 2 years ago... oops...
Just an FYI since this just popped in to my little brain. When you change out your rear brakes the pad pin on the caliper is metric; a 6.5mm 12 point but have a 1/4" 12 point on hand and you can outsmart the HD confusion I dunno why that just jumped in to my head...
As far as the tire pressures on the Pirelli I ran them exclusively on my track bikes and I believe due to their more rounded profile they've always liked just a touch more pressure. I experimented with different front and rear pressures on the Wide Glide and found the sweet spot on the front is 38 - 39 and the rear is 41 - 42. Too low of a pressure on the front your handling is trashed and you're going to have accelerated cupping/scalloping of the tire. Reindeer recently posted he had cupping on his Night Dragon at lower front tire pressures.
I checked this brand new set of Night Dragons before I rode today; front at 38psi, rear at 42psi. Took them to the school parking lot and did a good job of scrubbing them in; circles, figure 8's slowly increasing lean angle. They felt great on the ride this afternoon
