Default Just got a 2015 Wide Glide, Need Bars ASAP!

Hey everyone, just picked up a lightly used 2015 Wide Glide last night (with 441 miles on it) and I love almost everything except the bars.

Has anyone replaced the stock bars on a late model Wide Glide? Are the stock risers the 1.25" or do they step down to 1 inch. I am looking at bars like the ones attached, but need to know if the risers have a step down or not.

Also, what am I looking at for cables and wire extensions?

Man, I'm excited and appreciate any help I can get.

The bars are 1.25 all the way through. The factory bars and risers do not step down to 1in.

Thanks for the heads up, I guess my next question is, would it be easier to change out the risers for 1 inch ones, or to find 1.25 in bars to fit the stock ones, it seems like 1.25 inch bars with knurling are pretty tough to find.

I just ordered a set of Mayhems' from KST and they knew that they didn't step down. Chances are you will be getting s shorter set of risers anyway, so you can order whatever you decide in the end. those tall risers wont look so great with a set of mini apes in my eyes...

Burley doesn't list a kit for the 15 wide glide because of the ABS. But I am not at the point where I am ready for the expensive part yet, so I have not looked too hard. fixing one bike at the moment, so I cannot tear into the wide glide yet.

Good point, looks like finding brake line is going to be tricky. Will have to do some looking.

So far Magnum Shielding is the only one I can find for 2015 WG with ABS.

It's a little spendy, anyone have any experience with these cables?

That is going to get expensive... Wonder if you and I can get a multi purchase discount and have two sets shipped together to save some money.

It did get expensive, the kit ended up costing me $511. Way more than I wanted to spend but the kit was very nice and came with the CANBUS extenders that I was able to pull through the bars, so no soldering required. Also, the brake line came with the ABS manifold already attached, so that was a plus.

The kit looks really nice too with the stainless cables and lines, I really wish Burly made one of their $200 kits for my bike though, would have saved me some dough and I really wasn't set on the stainless look.

I installed them Sat and Sun over the weekend. Took forever (was my first time). I just bled the brakes like normal (with a mighty vac) to dry out the front system, took the old cables off and did the job.

After the bars were on I hooked up the new brake line with new washers, torqued to spec and used my vacuum bleeder to pull fluid into the system. I cycled it through a couple of times to get the air bubbles out.

The brakes were a little spongy at first but once I got out on the road, the ABS stops flashing as soon as I take off, just like normal. Tested the ABS on my second test ride yesterday after getting it all put together. Hit a quiet side street near the house and from about 40mph I slammed on both brakes to simulate an emergency situation. One small peep out of the front tire and then it kicked in and stopped safely and abruptly.

YMMV but I say this job can be done on an ABS Dyna without going to the dealer. I will keep an eye on the ABS light to make sure everything remains normal, but I think if there were any problems, I would have noticed them on my 3 test rides yesterday.
