Hello to All!
I'm trying to reinstall my o.e.m. factory seat and it's not fitting like it should.
There is way too much side to side wobble it's not "locking" in. I have the Corbin Hollywood solo seat and have removed the hardware for that seat, thinking it was the problem to no avail. If anyone has done this swap please advise, I cant even find an instruction sheet or pdf online to show me what I'm missing or doing wrong Harley part # 53108-8.
Thank you!
Their nothing special. If I remember right 1/2 - 1" square dense foam rubber with sticky on one side. A few on the fender (to keep it from rubbing) and a few on the high spots on the bottom of the seat. Home Depot will have something that will work.
My stock FXDF seat had straps that were bolted to the seat and then bolted to the motorcycle, had to remove rear screw, lift seat remove 2 bolts holding strap to bike and then lift the seat off.
The front of the seat hooks under the rear of the gas tank and the rear of the seat gets screwed into the rear fender. Not much to figure out why it's not fitting correctly.
if one of the bumpers are missing it will rock, if the tongue of the seat isn't engaged it will rock. stock number for bumpers is 11576 for the front bumpers and 11672 for the rear.
Here's a couple pics of the pads that everyone is talking about. Took these a long time ago figuring out how to make a sissy bar that attached to the fender.
