Thanks for the info on the slip ons. Now I know I can get the SE II's, the high Flow SE A/C, and as far as the EFI goes, I am guessing the factory down load is sufficient right? It looks like about 225 for the pipes, and about a 100 for the A/C, so how much more to pay the dealer to D/L the remap for me?????

I think the Stage I download is about $150. The Screaming Eagle Air Cleaner is about $140. See page 516, item B, in the 2006 Parts and Accessories manual. My 06 FXDWGI is set up this way and it is awesome.

I have put two different sets of mufflers on my 06 Bob.
Current set is SEII ( says it on the muffler) the other
was HD turn outs ( too loud ) took them off.

Got them both on EBAY for around $100.00 a set turnouts
were new and the SEII's were used but in perfect condition.

Any slipon for a DYNA from 1995 and up will fit an 06 model.

I like em loud so I just saved the money for the download and removed the mufflers.

I put a set of SEII pros on my '06 superglide (baloney cuts). Got them through Chicago HD for 20% off MSRP. The sound is amazing. Great rumble at idle, not obnoxious at cruising speed, and absolutely wicked when twisitng the throttle. Still have the stock A/C as I hust don't know about the whole remap cartridge vs reacetuner/dyno setup thing yet.

welcome to the world of harley... for anything beyond the most mundane changes you'll need the "key" as it's called - the race tuner. These run around $400. The cost of the dyno tune varies... but be sure you go to someone who knows what they are doing - if they run it in an area that doesn't cool your bike it will overheat and cause you even more problems.

Thank the EPA for the push for EFI and hence the need for re-mapping and dyno tuning your bike (rather than re-jetting a carb).

I'm a newbie to HD. I just bought an 06 Wide Glide this week.

Exactly what do you get with a stage 1 download, SE muffler, and an SE AC? I understand you will get a better sound, increased performance, but just how much of an increased performance are we talking about? Is it really noticeable?

Bigdog,
I am running the se II and air cleaner with the 149.00 downlaod. Bike runs better , but is running a little lean.I just ordered a Techlusion EFI fuel controller from for a total of 212.00 from custom dynamics{great service and prices} From the research I have done on this and the problems at issue concerning our particular setups with the slip ons,A/C and generic down load this is the way to go. I also refuse to pay 450 or 360 for cert or pcIII . I think they are great products, but overkill for the mods that we are accomplishing. If you plan on going all out and building a monster motor then by all means buy the cert.
By the way my bike is 06 fxd35. I should have the goodies by around the 4th or 5th. I will let you know how they work out
One more thing..These are the only mods I will be doing to the engine so that is why I went this route.

Bigdog,

Is the Techlusion component the same as the SE Pro EFI Race Fueler (part number 32136-04 or 31236-05)? Just wondering
