Default Help! I don't know where more to look. Idling issue.

I am losing my wits here and becoming very frustrated.

My 2011 Wide Glide with 15k Miles on it is still having issues with the idle. Here's what's going.

I have been having this issue where the bike starts just fine but after I get to a stop light she goes into a high idle like 1300-1500 rpm's and then it comes back down.

Here's what I've done.

Changed IAC, Ambient Air Temp, and the TPS. Added dialectic grease to all connectors including the one for the Power Commander. I also hooked up the power commander to a laptop and the throttle position jumps from 0 to 3% rapidly.

After I installed the TPS the idle problem improved for a short while then it started doing it again. Here's whats funny, when she idles high and you accelerate quickly or rev the engine rapidly she misses and I smell a strong odor of burnt gas. When she idles normal it doesn't miss or sputter. Its really strange!

Maybe you guys can tell me where else to look or what to do. Thanks for all the help!

Exhaust or intake leak? Did you make any changes to the bike when the issue started?

Im no mechanic by any means, so this is just my .02 but our bikes have drive by cable and not drive by wire.

So the whole computer reading thing makes no sense, it wouldnt just open throttle by itself with no exterior force.

Since this happens only when you come to stop light and not when it first starts, have you checked if you have the throttle cable too tight maybe? So it just sticks when you let go of the throttle

Assuming the connectors were all dried out on the PC and you have packed the connectors with dielectric grease to keep water out.... With the PC, "Get Map" and "Get Table" saving program to your desktop. Then Under PC Tool Environmental Options "Reset PC" From PC Tools Reset Throttle unless your bike is throttle by wire. Be sure to accept 0% and cycle the throttle high to set wide open. I like to write down the numbers for both. Now reload the program from desktop and see if all is well.

EFI dude. The efi/ecu is in fact a computer that reads different sensors. Throttle doesn't have to be open for it to open the injectors based on what info its getting from the sensors. Just like people changing pipes or intake without doing a tune. It adjusts to the conditions it reads.

The old trick for finding vacuum leaks, was to take some starting fluid and spray at different areas of the intake system, till you hear the idle kick up.

Can you monitor the IAC position?

No, and I did put on a new cleaner while changing all the sensors.

It idles fine from time to time and then it just gets a mind of its own and the idle goes up then sometimes goes back down and then goes back up or whenever it wants to really.
