Cowbells are held In place using a simple strap clamp and 2 L brackets wedged between it aND the fork tube. Then I ran 2 bolts thru a hole in the L bracket directly into the 2 holes on the cowbells that normally bolt to the lower triple on FL models

I plan to mount the fairing using the HD quick release windshield brackets tied into the custom inner. Iv cutout some foam I plan to try my luck with fiberglass. Gotta figure out what size and how many speakers I will run b4 I can go much further.
So you pulled your stock lower legs off the full legs and replaced with the newer FLHX lowers, any issues doing the swap or is it just like a typical rebuild of the forks?

Also, I was wondering if putting a lowering kit in the legs would close up the gap.

That's correct. Same as a rebuild just used the flhx lowers. Needed 1 pinch bolt and of coarse the touring axle

And yes a lowering kit or moving the forks up in the triple wI'll effectively close that gap, I'm waitong to see what happens with the lower fairing panel first to see if it covers it, if not il do one of those two options. I'd prefer to not lower the bike if possible as I already drag exhuast on hard right handers

Decided to ditch the cheapo HD tea straw air shock setup in exchange for a much more solid sturdy line and fittings. Still tryin to get it all ironed out

Yes it will sit lower in the pic it is just balaced sitting on the quick release clamps, not the final positioning. Just a quick look at what it will be once completed

Did you purchase the lowers and wing new or used? If used, online or local?

The lower fork legs and cowbells were purchased from my buddy who owns a 14 SG for 200 (same as what u can score em for on evay)
The outer fairing and front 2014 SG fairing and front fender were found on Craigslist. I paid 200 for both which was a smokin deal as far as I'm concerned
