Right, use earplugs on long trips - more for wind noise. I think the loudest and most obnoxious sounding pipes were V&H short shots on sporty . I like more low-end mean grumble of fat cat, sawicki or TH

I’ve heard everything is right besides the sound. One guy sold his on here and went back to his thunderheader as it just wasn’t that thunderheader sound. I’m currently running Andrews 48h on a 96 With a rr3 that’s about as loud as I can tolerate and it’s not the loudest out there lol

With regard to the Red Thunder sound... A good friend of mine has one on his LRS. When he first installed it, he was super happy with the build quality but so-so on the sound. He rode it for a couple of months before realizing that it shipped with Euro "DB Killers" installed. Removing them completely changed the sound (and performance, after a retune). I wonder whether people unhappy with the Red Thunder sound are overlooking this? It's pretty common for European pipes to ship with such devices installed (I think it's the only way some pipes are legal in some countries). My Arrow Pipes for my Triumph shipped the same way.
