Default Fat Bob. Skinny front tire?

i know the whole idea of a fat bob is the wide front tire. but i found a good deal on a fat bob and like the dual head lights, the double disc brakes but would rather have a skinnier taller front tire. Is this possible? And if so how would it effect the handling.

Check a parts fiche and compare parts from the bob and a wide glide of the same year and see what's different? You'll need a wheel with dual discs too - WG is single I believe.

Quick look shows same axle p/n - so that's promising, but that's as far as I'm looking!

The biggest difference I would expect would be suspension geometry in the front and rear.

No big deal, u either need to swap for a stock mid glide front end or order an after market wheel. 18x3 Is the largest that would fit under a stock fender. You should be able to find a 120/70R18 tire to fit that wheel. It would only be 10mm narrower but would appear much narrower because of the added height. Google image search fat Bob with 18" wheels.

Whatever you do on the front end you should do on the rear. Raising the front end and not the rear will feel like it makes it harder to steer. I'd recommend 18's on both front and rear.

Been toying with doing this myself for a while. Big thing for me is not to give up dual discs. If I can find a new low rider front end I'm all over it.

I will be doing 18" wheels soon, the overall height will be virtually identical to stock for front and back, the sidewall height will be reduced to compensate for the taller rims. So if you just wanted to do 18" front and keep the 16" rear, it should work fine except the wheels will not match in style.

You gonna run a 200/50/18 on the rear or a narrower width?

Not interested in a fatter rear so it will be 180/55/18.
