Ready to buy the tank lift. I want the 3" but am not sure about clearing the top tree. I'm out of town for several more days so I can't raise my tank up 3" and swing the forks to see for myself. So, if anyone here has Jackyl's 3" lift on an 06/07 Wide Glide, please let me know if it fits or if a 2" would be better.

put my 3" lift on order from jackyl yesterday. Should be here in 3 days, Ill let you know. On another tank lift post, I saw a WG with the 3" so I dont assume he had problems.

 

Hey Scott. I thought the same thing. I eyeballed it (I was at work and no tape measure) and it looks like there is no way that 3" will clear with the stock bars. I PMed Jackyl and he said that his products are 100% returnable if it doesn't work out. I took the easy way out and ordered the 2" though. Who knows, if it works out for Vincent, I may order the 3" too. At $30, you can't really go wrong. Good luck with it.

 

I have Wild-1 Drags with 10" risers that come straight up out of the top triple tree, so bar width won't come into play. I was more concerned with the tree itself clearing. I trust Jackyl's judgement, and you're right; $30 is too inexpensive to not just try it. Ordered mine this evening. Pics when it's installed.

I messed around with my tank today and hand raised it between 2 and 3 inches (not quite 3 because the fuel line was too short) and there was contact between tank and trees when the bike is on the stand. It looks like the contact would go away if I raised it the full 3 inches. That being said, I'm waiting for the parts to see if its true

 

Ah, I see that you have different bars than what is in your sig. Definitely post pics when you are done. My 2" should be here any day and I will do the same.

This is a 2005 Wideglide with a 3" lift by Rudedog. The tree clears the tank by a little over 1/4" on each side. I have 4" risers so the handle bars clearing the tanks is not a problem at all. It looked like if I had gone with a 2" lift instead the tree would defintely hit the tank.
