Washing black demin paint
The bike needs a bath. First one after 1000kms. What do you guys with the black demin use to wash your bike?
I've read dish detergent works well, I'm assuming they mean regular dish detergent and not dish-washer detergent. Also, what kind of cloth, or mit do you use to wash it? Materials would be nice.
I really love the look of the denim paint, but I've already got a number of nicks on my tank. Zipper, rocks, nozzle at the gas station. I really should be more careful.

marks seem to rub out ok with a wet finger ...
I bought mine in denim black so i didn't have to clean it too much ... i use baby wipes to get bugs and mud off ... god knows if they can get the sh$t off my kids rear ends they can get any amount of crud off my bike ...

Yea...Mine's a month and a half old and I also already have a few scratches too. The story from HD is that the denim paint is supposed to scratch and wear easily for a unique finish over time (like a pair of "denim" pants). Still doesn't sit well with me when I see a light scratch on my brand new baby. :-)
I've been washing mine with water and A LITTLE bit of liquid dish detergent. I use a couple of small towels that I clean each time (so I know that there is nothing on the towel that will scratch my delicate paint job). It really does clean easily so half the time, I've been using warm water w/o any detergent. I dry it with a clean microfiber cloth that you can get at any car parts store.

It's a bit comforting to hear some of the same issues i guess. I'd considerthe way Itreat my bike to bebabying it, but I'm still picking up scratches. I did *** up a bit taking off the reflectors on one side. Rubbedon the glue a bit too aggressively and slightlyfaded the paintin that one area. You really have to look for it, but obviously it's the only thing I see when I look at the bike.
Thanks for all the responses.
Ray.
