Those look like Howard took the previously available Nix22 carts for the wide glide and adjusted them for standard 49mm setups.

Wide Glide only so far... We were afraid of that dammit.

So, Wide Glide fork is longer than the FXDL or FXD or FXDB?

So are we sure what Ohlins is doing or are we dealing with Howard's conversion?

I thought I read on Ohlins site that they were coming out with a cartridge for 49mm forks and the Wide Glide version has been out a while.

Maybe I'm just in a food coma...

Wide glides have 2" longer tubes than the standard mid-glide forks. If I am reading Howard's post right, it looks like he is making modifications to get the wide glide versions to fit.

"As of today there is no out of the box NIX 22mm drop in, out of the box standard Dyna or V-Rod OEM solution"

To me, this says he is using the NIX 22 kit that has been available for the wide glide for several months now.

I may have misread, but I thought his conversion was using vrod sliders to give you dual discs only, not to get it to fit non-WG Dyna's...

Damn... Every time I read that post, I interpret something new out of it. Maybe I need to take a reading comprehension class! I just read it again, and yes, I think you're right.

"* 49mm Wideglide forks. I can also make provisions for converting these cartridges and installing them into V-Rod sliders for your 49mm Wideglide for twin calipers/disks"

For some reason, I though he was modifying for a mid-glide. When he wrote "no out of box solution" I took that as he modified, and made it work.

Ehhh... It is 4:40am here

Howard's style of writing is very confusing and I am not able to interpret what he is trying to say. His website is even more confusing.

What was H-D's purpose in having 2" longer fork tubes? Are the rear shocks taller, too?

WG's have extra rake, my guess is the extra length in the tubes was to maintain ride height?

That makes sense. I wonder why Ohlin went after FXDWG's first. It seems to me there are a lot more 'other' Dynas out there.
