Great to hear that you're loving them!

2 quick thoughts...

Where did you get the sausages from (do they ship)?
I'm sure the installer set your sag, but don't forget that if you're setting for 1.75 inches that should start with the bike in the air completely unladen, then when you lower it you'll lose a bit and then of course when you're on. If you set the sag with bike already on the ground you're probably closer to 2.25 inches of sag total.

Hope all is well!

Tietel Brothers. They do in fact have a website! https://www.teitelbros.com. The dry hot and sweet sausage on the second page of the retail meats section is what we always get. It's even better if you let it hang at room temp for a couple of weeks.

The funny thing is, they've got the best Italian stuff, but it's a Jewish business. Go figure.

Installer did nothing. Literally. He told me he didn't change any adjustments. So I started from scratch. I think I have it close, but I'll get more details from Howard tomorrow. I hate to say it, but it's making me want to upgrade my entry level rears for the better, remote reservoir ones. When does it stop?

Based on a conversation with and info from Mr. Messner we determined my sag should be 43mm. So after dinner I'll use a small platform scissor jack to lift the front wheel and measure using a zip tie. He then explained the principles of adjusting compression and rebound - though for rebound he basically said until I really get familiar with the cartridges I should leave them at the factory starting point.

So, more to come.

My eyeball sag guesstimation wasn't too far off. Used a zip tie on the fork and sat on the bike with my hand on a wall to get my feet off the floor. Made sure the zip was down on against the slider to make sure it didn't bounce when i hopped on. Dismounted and jacked up the front wheel and checked. Sag was 40mm. It's supposed to be 43mm. So I had a tiny bit too much preload. About half turn less on both, checked again and I was spot on at 43mm.

So I get it started and about to head out and mess with the compression settings, when I open the garage door to black clouds. Oh well, not tonight.

To be continued... Again.

Oh I wasn't suggesting otherwise. It's only odd because Arthur Avenue in the Bronx is like Little Italy in Manhattan. A very Italian neighborhood, that's like an oasis in an otherwise crappy area. You can practically leave your car unlocked while a block or two away it would be gone in 60 seconds. Just odd to see a store that has a Star of David tiled into the entrance floor...

Nevertheless, it's where some of the best restaurants around get their supplies. A couple of stores down is a run down bakery run by three little old Italian sisters that make the best damn bread you can buy.

Love it there. I can't get away without spending way too much money. Came home with these (among other things)

And now I'll stop as we're getting way OT

Just a quick question : How much do you torque the Seat Pipe Screw (the 12mm allen) ?

In the 2014 FSM (and before) : 132-216 in-lbs (14.9-24.4 Nm)
In the 2015 FSM (and after) : 30-37 ft-lbs (40-50 Nm)

I torqued it 20Nm + blue loctite, everything seems fine, but since i'll remove my wheels this weeks, i Wonder if i should re-torque it higher?

I don't even know what a seat pipe screw is, but if you break a loctite bolt after it's cured I'm pretty sure you lose all of its benefits...
