Good info in this thread, but why is it so complicated to get the right bracket straight from their website? For people outside the US it can be a PITA with customs.

I'm not doing my brakes in the next weeks/months, but would still be intesrested in a performance single disc set up....with proper parts that fits!

I'm enjoy with my kit. I leave a Triumph Speed Triple before my Street Bob, the braking with the Ness rotor is near of it.
We have the same problem in Europe, the good bracket is unknown and it's impossible to buy direct from Ness, with the port and customs it seams that we buy a second kit.

Ness shipped out the correct bracket and just like Davdoodles posted, it has 02-972-1 engraved.

They didn't fuss at all and just sent it right out via ups at no charge. that's pretty stand-up honestly. I wonder why distributors aren't aware of this... or maybe they are and that's why i got the kit for $171 and not $299... hmm? i'll put it on tomorrow and test it out.

finally got the big brake kit on after the bracket ordeal. easy install outside of getting the wheel back on and making a f**kall mess with anti-seize on the axle. i followed this:

the 21" wheel steals the thunder from the rotor, still looks small compared to lansings and davdoodles

Great job.

So, what's our best bet in order to get the right bracket the first time? Ordering directly from Arlen Ness?

getting it from them would probably be best.

i don't regret it though. i spent $171 with free shipping and no tax on the kit, $50 to powdercoat the inner area, and $3 on fresh bolts for the rotor. only had to wait a week for the bracket @$0. that's $224.

Old Mr. Ness and son want $299.99

i'd just order the $171 kit from phat performance and then call ness the same day to get the 02-972-1 so they will arrive at about the same time.

02-972 is the kit for you. git sum!

call phat performance 866-739-PHAT (7428) ... or send them an email sales@phatperformanceparts.com , they will hook you up with a good deal. that should save you enough to get soem lyndall z+ pads http://www.easternperformance.com/ly...and-dyna.html? and a bottle of brake fluid and brake cleaner!
