Default Clearview shield arrived...

Ordered a clearview recurve shield for my low rider about 10 days ago, and to my surprise it arrived today. Enormous box, well packed. It's about 2" wider on either side and about 6" taller then the Memphis shades replacement for the HD quick D brackets. I still see over it, which is good, but I will need to cut the lower corners so I can lower it a bit. My fork mounted sigs limit how far down I can mount it. So I have about a 3" gap above the headlight that I'd like to reduce. I guess I'll look for a glass cutting shop for that. No way I'm using a jig saw as seen on YouTube!

Anyway, here is the old plastic:

And here's the clearview: (I got the light tint. I think it looks good)

I have yet to ride with it, and naturally it's going to rain the next couple of days, but it looks like it'll be 50 this weekend so I'll be on it then. I'll report back afterwards.

I am really looking forward to your ride report. I have the compact HD shield with the DQ brackets and it is terrible. So much buffeting my eyeballs want to fall out of my head.

No problem using a jig saw. I did mine that way, just tape it up with painters tape first and use a medium to fine blade and take your time. Then to finish the edge round it with a fine file and polish with a Dremel tool with a felt wheel and polishing compound.

Me too. I did get "used" to the buffets, and I got pretty good at hunkering down at speed to minimize it. It's funny, now that it's colder, I'm using my full face helm more, and the buffeting is actually worse with it vs. my Akoury half. Guess it's a bigger target.

Anyway, I'll post back prob Thurs or Fri.

I don't know. I'm good enough with a wrench, but I'd be afraid I'd screw that up if I tried. I've never made a good cut with a jig. I'd rather pay a shop to do it right I think.

This is what led me to Clearview. My stock windshield was causing my vision to blur as my head was being rattled so much. It also caused bad headaches due to my bad neck. By upgrading to the Clearview and a set of Memphis Shades lowers it has completely eliminated my problems, even at extreme speeds.

Thanks for the post! I am eagerly awaiting my 'light tint' recurve from these guys to slap on my Road King. I got the 1" lower and 3" wider version.

The stock shield from HD with my FF helmet was barely tolerable!

Thanks for posting this! I have been looking for a replacement windshield that will work with my HD quick release mounts. Now I know where to get it.
