Congrads on getting that very sweet blue LR. Did you buy the 2006 LR new back in 2006?

I put in about an hour on it this morning under varying conditions (highway, stop and go, low speed, etc). A few noticeable differences from the 06.

The amount of vibration is noticeably reduced. On the 06, my mirrors vibrated so bad (especially at idle) that the image was sometimes very blurry. On the 16, the image is crystal clear at all times. It still has the old school feel but in a very controlled way.

The 103 HO engine puts the power down very smoothly and the torque is noticeably improved. My 88 had a Stage 1 kit, and this is a definite upgrade. Even rolling into the throttle on the highway in 5th gear, it pulls hard. V&H Staggered Long shots and a Fuel Pak should make it even better.

I had fwd controls installed at the dealership. They will take a bit of getting used to but i am very happy with them. On my 06 i always rode the highway pegs and heel shifted/braked, so a bit of an adjustment for me with the fwd's.

The gadgetry is hugely improved. The 16 has a distance to empty feature, gear indicator and a clock. Didnt have any if that on my 06.

Paint, fit and finish are excellent on the new bike.

Overall, I'm extremely pleased. Just need more good weather and seat time now.

In the process of de-reflector-izing (word of the day) the bike. Staggered Big Shots on the way. Will get some fresh pics soon.

Weather is still not great but was able to pull it outside for a little bit. All stickers, reflectors etc are removed. Exhaust is done. FP3 is enroute. Here's a few pics.
