EFI bike rough idle when cold
2009 FXD
A friend's bike idles rough when it's started on cold mornings, and sometimes turns off during the process. This would be considered normal on a carbed bike, but this one is Fuel Injected, has anyone experienced this problem before? How did you get it fixed?

Try cleaning the IAC (idle air control) valve. Mine went bad and was causing a really low idle when coming to a stop. Changed it out and all is good.
Remove air cleaner, look on upper part of intake before butterfly valve. This valve should actuate when you cycle the key. It allows air to bypass the butterfly valve at idle to control. You can shove a rage in the intake past the butterfly to prevent chemicals from entering the engine. Spray some carb cleaner into IAC while cycling the key. Some have luck cleaning it, I had to replace mine. It's about $40 for the part.

Ask your friend if he has stock spark plugs. If so, never mind. If not, put some stocks back in and see if that fixes the problem. Some after market plugs have a colder heat range and don't do well in colder weather. Just a thought!

is there an EFI tuner on bike?
there some warm-up steps in the tune which can be adjusted, maybe some AFR and VE changes as well
you are right, all EFI motors should start and run properly at idle and be able to ride after 10-30secs and have bike function correctly
