It has been discussed on the forum but I can not find it. Loosen triple tree clamps and slide the forks up the desired height.

Of course you can...it'll still go , it's that the balance of the bike will be slightly off and it won't be level.

As per manual the "fork tubes should protrude above the triple clamp .0450-0.500 in. (11.4-12.7mm)" So just loosen the pinch bolts and slide the tubes up approx. 1" and tighten pinch bolts to 30-35 ft. Lbs. (41-48Nm)

That will get you "close to the 1 " drop you asked about. Then make sure you will not "bottom" on anything when your suspension is compressed.

You'll have to watch pulling the fork tubes up in the tripple tree if you have stock handle bars. Not a whole lot of room but some.

And if you slide the tubes up 1in, thats not going to make your front end sit a full inch lower because the forks sit at an angle and not perpendicular to the ground.

Really the only way to do it, is with a lowering kit that includes shorter springs and they're only arond $100. But if you wanted to, you could try cutting down your springs a touch. While certainly not optimal for handling (lowering doesnt help handling of these bikes at all anyways, only hurts) it would work.

I believe that was covered:

You could consider Race Tech gold valve emulators and springs, smarten your suspension right up and the kit comes with a top out spring that can lower you by an inch.
