06 dyna primary bearing issue
Hey guys. My 2006 superglide has not been giving me any issues with the inner primary bearing yet. But I'm at 16k miles and I'm about to open up the primary to do a chain drive conversion and I was wondering if I should replace the inner primary bearing while I'm in there. Or is it smarter to just leave it alone until it's actually acting up. The past couple hundred miles there is some noise Coming from the primary but nothing like what I've read online about the ipb issue
Some feedback would be appreciated It's only a 50$ fix. But just wondering if I should just leave it be. Or try and prevent this issue from arising in the future

It's easy enough to do a visual check while you have it apart. If it's bad enough to make noise, you'll see the damage.
For 50 bucks, I'd probably go ahead and replace it even if it looks good. I only got 10K out of my original one.
For what it is or isn't worth, some people have claimed that the Baker bearing is a permanent fix. Others have had problems with the Baker bearing.
I replaced mine with stock, and then bought the Harley extended warranty. Supposed to cover most repairs (minus a deductible), cover towing, and put me up in a hotel while it's being fixed if I'm on a trip.
I'll presume you've already taken care of the alternator rotor issue on that year? If not, take care of that too while you have the primary apart.

i have a new baker ipb in my garage if you are interested (34091-85)
I bought it to use on my 06 but never installed it
i dont have a use for it and its been sitting there sealed up in a ziplock lock. It comes with the seal
I dont know how much it would cost to ship but i would let it go for $20 plus shipping
