Default 180 tire on harley switchblade wheel?

I have a set of switch blade mag wheels on my 06 streetbob. The rear is a 17x5.5 I believe. Is a 200 tire too much? Should I stick to a 180? I changed the bolts for my rear fender brackets, so I do have alot more clearance now, it currently has a 160 on it. I'm pretty new to this so any help will be appreciated, thank you.

A pic of my bike

If I'm not mistaken, your rear wheel is 4.5" not 5.5". According to manufacturer "recommendations" the only 3 180 tires made for a 4.5" wheel are the harley Dunlop, a Michelin scorcher, and Pirelli night dragon. You "CAN" put any size tire on that you can get to fit. There are threads of people going as large as a 190 on the 4.5" rim and stating no troubles. I don't know if I've seen people go to 200 on a 4.5" wheel though.

Thank you for link, QC, but that link is for harleys, with factory laced wire wheels. I have a set of harley switchblades, and I measured the rear wheel at 5.5.

Dyna Switchback (2) FLD 2012-2015 18x3.0 130/70-18 21x3.5 120/70-21 17x4.5 160/70-17 18x5.5 180/55-18

The size I highlighted is max tire size for a 18 X 5.5 wheel.

But as the other poster said, You can mount anything to anything if you can get it to fit. Good luck.

Edited after relooking at the chart.

I have a switchblade wheel, not a switchback wheel. It's a 10 spoke mag wheel, I do like the switchback wheels, though. Thank you for your help QC, I'm still figuring out what to do, but it's not really a priority. I'm just playing around with ideas. Thanks again.

The size I highlighted is max tire size for a 18 X 5.5 H-D Switchback wheel.

how did you measure it? chances are its 4.5in wide wheel. As I read in the HD parts catalog all dyna replacement wheels except for those for the Fat bob that are 17in rears are 4.5in wide. Chances are you measured the edge to edge and not the actual bead surface of the wheel.

Either way, I would feel comfortable running a 180 tire on a 4.5in wide wheel but Nothing wider. I'm currently running a 170/60 night dragon on mine, and the fit is perfect but it actually looks smaller than a 160/70 tire because it is a tiny bit shorter. I'm thinking about going to the 180 night dragon next.

A 200mm tire fits on a 6" wide rim perfectly. That's what one of my bikes came from the factory with.
