Default Opinions on 2013 superglide

I drive a geezer glide and want to add a two wheeler. Used to ride dirk bikes so my vtwin experience with two wheels is limited to that. I prefer a super glide or older wide glide or a softail standard or similar. I found a 2013 super glide with 8700 miles and lots of add on's that I like (we're at $10,800 after adding forward foot controls).

Mostly my riding will be just me and short trips. I may do a couple 2-day rides but probably no long road trips. My wife likes to ride on the trike but, is a little timid about a two wheel bike. Probably won't get on it but maybe.

Question is: anyone own a super glide and whats the prevailing opinion on them compared to similar bikes? How's this price? How's the ride and handling on this bike compared to others? It feels OK but that's just a test ride.

After a 800 mile road trip, I felt like my 2014 Dyna Super Glide Custom FXDC preformed like the big boy Harley's. You can't go wrong with a Super Glide Custom, But I'll look for a 2014 with the 103 engine. Because this is the last year of Harley making them, and a 2014 is the only year with the 103 :-)

I have a 2013 Super Glide Custom that I bought new in June of '13. I have Vance & Hines slip-ons which I bought from a forum member for $150, I added the HD Stage One air cleaner assembly so I could stay with the stock cover and I bought the V&H Fuelpack3. Let me put it this way, if you ask a kid to draw a picture of a motorcycle they will draw a Super Glide. This bike is the definition of motorcycle. It is SO much fun to ride as all Dynas are. Quick, nimble, stable and they sound great too. Of course you have to like the chrome look otherwise look to the Street Bob. I agree the 2014 bikes have some exclusivity due to the short model year run and the 103 cu.in. engine. BUT, if you found a bike you like at the right price jump on it. I doubt the 2014 will ever be collectible as the chances are HD will reintroduce the FXDC with the next generation engine that will exceed the 103. A well cared for used bike is always a good deal as the first owner takes the hit on depreciation.

Just after I bought my '13 SG, I found used ones all over the inet. Don't know how stop in production will affect value. I'd say so some comparison shopping on price. Immediately upgraded rear shocks; front are progressive springs, and have performed well. Added a comfortable (back supportive)seat, also.

The bike is ***** out fun.

SuperGlides are one of the best handling Harley models made. Way better than any FL or softail. Sorry but true.

Bought my 2010 new & now have 17k miles on her. Fantastic bike. I take a couple 1k mile trips a year where I add a windshield and a backrest with luggage, but 99% of the time it's stripped. The Lowcountry of SC is pretty flat, so the only chance I get to really enjoy how it handles is on our trips to NC. Stage 1 mods, tuned with a Power Vision, make it plenty quick. Pull the trigger. You can't go wrong. Good Luck.
