10000 miles and I have 2 leaks
Dang Harley's [:@]I thought to myself about a year ago ( Sweet I have a new Harley no oil leaks like my friends old Harley's ) That came to a screaming stop yesterday. I went to my brothers house went inside to burn and come back out and as we were talking I noticed a few spots of oil under my primary. So I get to looking around and it looks like the oil plug O ring is leaking, no problem that's easy enough to fix. While I'm looking around I noticed some oil on my jugs.... hummmmm now that don't look good! It looks to me like the oil is coming from my valve covers or heads up top. Do you think it just needs Re Torqued or am I in more trouble then that?
What you think guys??
Thanks for any info!!

As frustrating as that can be, I think you just need a couple of minor fixes there. I have 18000 on my 05 and have never had a leak of any sort. Not saying that next week I won't but, most HD's don't leaklike they used to.

I checked the rocker box bolts and guess what.... loose 1/2 turn each on the front cylinder box, good on the back.... Don't know if that will fix the leak but we will see when I get a chance to ride it again. Also the primary drain plug was loose so maybe with some luck I wont have anymore leaks!
Thanks your input guys, Donnie

I think at times folks ferget that motorcycles are machines......A little drop of oil leaking here or there is something i would not to get all crazy about unless of course you like your bike looking spotless.........Now if its leaking worse than that, thats certainly another issue.....I have a jeep cherokee with 307.000 miles on it......its had a rear main seal leak fer about 210.000 miles......No big deal really.....Don't leak bad.....drip or two on the driveway.....Its a machine !......And its never been to the shop for any maintenance.....Original starter, original water pump, original fuel injectors......Did replace the radiator one time.......and i have done numerous brake jobs on it......My last sporty had a slight top end leak.....Wipe her off......and after a few days of riding it would start to show a drop or two......No big deal.....Its a machine......i figured i would fix the leak whenever i had to go in to the top end for something needing fixin......Some oil leaks on the other hand need immediate attention, like oil lines, etc.....Such left unfixed could certainly be TROUBLE.
