Turn Signal on with Ignition Key - doesn't work afterwards
Guys, when I turn the key on, the right turn signal goes on and stays on indefinitely if I leave it. Only way to turn it off is to hit the left hand turn signal to turn the left signal on and off. If I hit the right hand turn signal to turn the right one on, it doesn't do anything. Anyone have any idea about this one? Right hand turn signal housing malfunction?
Sounds to me like a problem in that right turn signal.
It could be stuck on and that's why it turns on with ignition and then since its already stuck down that's why you cant use it.
Do you park and store the bike outside? I'd say take that switch apart
The weird thing is, I can get the hazards to come on still. Always parked inside.
Hazards are a separate circuit on a separate switch. That helps point towards the right turn switch, if the rest of the circuit works and you lost control of the switch...
So odd thing is is that I can get the hazards to some on sometime, but not always. the other day I got them to come up right after I started up, but after about 10-15 seconds of turning them on and off, they wouldn't come back on on the right side. If it was just the switch, wouldn't that prevent the hazards from coming on too since the right switch wouldn't be activated when pushing the button?
just a suggestion, is your turn signals dual filament? If so, sometimes the bikes do funny things when one of them is out. It could be as simple as a $2 bulb change to fix the problem. Worth a shot.
