Street Bob idle issue when cold
I own an '06 Street Bob 88ci and have a problem with the idle. When I first start it, it runs ok for about 30 seconds.... If I open the throttle , when the RPMs decline, the bike bottoms out and dies.... Almost making a backfire sound. Once the bike warms up, it's ok.
This issue was happening before I changed the air cleaner to a stage 1, and I also just installed a V&H Fuelpak. I entered the map and things have not changed. The bike actually backfired slightly today, and I really don't want to do any damage to my ride....I have ordered some V&H big shots, and want to correct this issue before I install the pipes.
Can anyone offer any solutions or point me in a direction. I don't wanna spend $500 at the stealership if it's an easy fix....

The problem actually existed before I put the air cleaner or fuelpak on, so it likely isn't either of those components. I am going to look for an intake leak first. If it's an exhaust leak, installing the pipes should fix the issue. I have also researched a little and found a fuel pump issue with the 06 fxdbi that may be a part of it...

I had very similar situation with my 2008 FXD, about 2 weeks ago. The gents on this forum directed me to the IAC. I cleaned it using carb cleaner and she's been running right as rain ever since. I'd try that first. Only takes a couple of minutes. I'll be adding to my spring tune up ritual now too.
Good luck. Let us know what you find out.
Edit: I also run a V&H fuelpak. Def wasn't that

First thing I would do is clean the IAC.
If that doesn't help, pull the Fuelpak and if the problem goes away the source is the Fuelpak. Either it went bad or the map is wrong. You can send it to V&H and they will test it at no cost to you.
Check for intake and exhaust leaks.
