Default Tank and fender is really cheap new from dealer

Wanted to lose my pinstripes. Was talking to painter to get it done. I can get a vivid black non pinstriped tank and rear fender painted OEM for under $500 from dealer So if that's the case I'll sell my pinstriped tank and rear fender. Just have to decide if to sell with the fender edge light and rear turns with it. Pinstripe tank is like $900 alone. Expensive stripes. Anyone interested in my tank and rear fender if I do this let me know. 12 wide glide with fender edge brake light and x arc led turns.

Been wanting to loose the flames and go all vivid black but was scared to get a paint quote. Never thought to check the dealer as new tanks on ebay are going for more than that. This is great news and will be my next mod if I can get it at that price. Thanks for sharing.

Nice find. I would have never guessed that considering what they charge for everything else.

My son dropped his custom painted '04 Low Rider last year and totaled the tank. Progressive allowed him $2000 for a new tank and a custom repainting. All the quotes to repaint the fenders and a used tank with the same custom paint scheme were over $2000 with $2200 being the lowest.

He found a never installed NOS tank for $500 at a local custom bike shop and decided to get his fenders painted to match. The MoCo Sierra Red and Brillant Silver paint alone cost around $350 and the finished matching paint job complete with pin stripes cost $900...for two fenders. $1400 total for a great looking finished job with a savings of $600 over what the insurance allowed and well below all of the quotes we got.

My advice is that if you can get this done for $500 from a dealer, then you do it as fast as you can before they figure out that they are loosing money.

Just the actual cost of a vivid black painted fender and tank from any dealer is cheap. From one of the big online HD dealers the tank and fender can be had for right around $500. These are factory painted parts
