RE: Renaming the Street Bob
This comes upalotit seems and I just don't see the big deal. People ripped the MoCo a new one after releasing the Nightster for the name but hardly anyone is making fun of the bike itself. It's a great looking bike just like the Street Bob so who cares what the heck they named it. There was AS much talk about the name as about the bike. I just couldn't understand that . . . areyou buyinga name or buying amachine that you want to ride?
Forget the name, there is someone who thinks every name Harley has ever used sounds dumb or "gay" or whatever. That's the problem when you NAME each model instead of just using model numbers. I think most people that give it a chuckle are coming from the ZXY1200YS land of the metrics. Names ARE a little weird when that's not what you're used to.
When asked I usually say "It's in the Dyna family, they call it the Street Bob". But heck, I've even had people say they thought the name was cool. Don't be embarassed to say its name, I mean YOU didn't make it up did you?I make no apologies for the name and I haven't heard anyone rip it except for people on here. It wouldn't have been my first name choice, but geez, I don't let it affect me.
