Default bad gasoline spill on my satin black paint

Hey guys. So, I literally just got my bike back last week from a brand new satin black paint job and today as I'm filling up the nozzle slips and I gush gasoline all over my brand new tank. I rushed home rinsed immediately with soap and water and wiped with a terry cloth but there is definitely a stain now on the tank, and it's big. I'm totally bummed. wouldn't care if it was old paint but I just dropped $1300 to have the whole bike painted. I'm disgusted and everything i've read says not to get gasoline on satin black because it won't come out. Anybody have any experience with this and how to possibly get this gasoline stain out? Thanks.

Try Windex, my woman was always spilling fuel on her denim black paint on her bike; I used Windex and a soft cloth and always managed to clean it up and bring it back...

I just saw a guy on youtube who cleaned his Sporty Iron that way. I'm going to give it a try. Thanks.

Thats the nature of satin and matte paint jobs...

I'm not a fan of satin or matte paint in the slightest, but I do feel sorry for you. I think you might be able salvage it with some professional cleaning products. Here is a link to some.

But I'd like to see how severe the damage is, if you could supply some pics.

I had a 2010 denim black x. I used windex, no ammonia, Wizards and harley denim cleaner. I spilled the gas on the tank many times in 40k miles. It always cleaned up fine with one of those three cleaners.

It almost looks like a water mark. I used dish detergent and a terry cloth as soon as I got home but the damage was done. If you think those products will help I will try them.

Before I repainted my bike it was denim black and I spilled has a few times as well in the hot sun......get some spray wax and it micro fiber towel to get it off real good.

I've gotten gas on mine too and Windex did the trick for me. I clean it with the stuff often also. All I've ever used is that or the HD denim cleaner.
