Rocker box covers

Rocker box covers
I want to change my chrome rocker box covers to wrinkle black. So far it looks fairly easy to change the upper covers, how much work is involved to change the lower rocker covers? Also if I change the lowers I would like to change the push rod covers to black also, is there anything I should know about the push rods? Can I just simply pull them out during the lower cover swap and then just put them back in, or will there be some adjustments that will need to be done?

Push rod covers come off without having to mess with the rods themselves.
Don't know how old your bike is but if it has any age at all, it wouldn't hurt to refresh all the gaskets since you'll have the top end pulled apart anyway. I'd pull the tank off instead of trying to mess around with limited space. Buy a manual if you don't have one. Will tell you all you need to know about this job

You definitely want to drain and remove tank for easier access to top of motor.
After top cover is off, rocker arm support plate and breather cover are accessible. Make sure to clean off all old gasket material before putting on new gasket.
With the rocker arms off, pushrods can easily be removed but be careful not to mix them up - they need to go back in the exact same hole they came from. Lower cover can now be removed.
With lower cover off cyl head bolts are now exposed - you may as well check for torque while you're here.
Lifter galley with p-rods removed. Even though your bike is still fairly new, it wouldn't hurt to change the o-rings when re-installing your p-rod covers.
Lastly, you want to adhere to torque values and tightening sequences when buttoning everything back up. Failure to do so can lead to leaks later. Take your time and you'll do fine.
