Can you post a picture of it?
Your acc. Plug is also your data port plug. There is a plug under the seat, but that might be for the security antenna I believe.

I need to get power when I turn the bike on. I believe the data port is always hot.

Trace you wiring diagram if possible. Can bus bikes don't like something powered off a circuit meant for something else. There should be a accessory plug as there is a fuse labeled p&a iirc besides the 15a battery fuse for ignition. The 2 15a fuses are right above the 40 amp maxi fuse. You may be able to trace continuity from the fuse to the plug if the can bus isn't tied into it.

That plug in the picture is for your security system. I will try to post a picture of the inside of that plug so you can match it with the one in your picture. It should mount on that thin piece of plastic in the picture.

Your Data Port plug is grey and is behind the left side cover. This is also your acc. plug. It is only hot when the ignition is on or on acc

Ok makes sense I checked and wasn't getting 12volts from that plug. So I can get the harness for the data plug and that will be a keyed hot. I thought I read that that was a constant hot? Guess you can't believe everything you read on the Internet.

Does that picture match your picture?
What are you trying to hook a hot lead to?

I don't know about the 14' years, but my 10' has an accessory wire on the bike side of the headlight connection in the neck, nothing on the light side. If you have this also, you could crimp a wire and put it in the light side of the harness and have switched power.

I think that connects to one of the modules for the factory security system. Does your bike have the security system? See the small long square box in the picture.. I think that's what plugs into your connector.
