Default FXDX headlight relocation

Okay guys, I've been searching for the answer for a couple weeks, and I can't find it. I've tried just about every combination of words to try and find this needle in a haystack, but no dice. I've got a T-Sport Repop that came with brackets, but when I mount it up, the headlight is recessed about 2-3 inches, and its not even close to lining up with the open space for the light. I have a 2002 FXDX, so it has the top mount headlight with the eyebrow. For anyone that has done this, what are you doing to move the headlight. I looked into the Ness bracket(s) but I don't see where that fixes my issue. Anybody that can point me in the right direction, I'd really appreciative. Pics are great too! Thanks!

You need to switch to a bottom mount headlight with bottom mount bracket and drill a hole in lower triple tree for mounting it. You can buy a bottom mount bracket from JD Customs that moves headlight forward for proper alignment for about $40. If your indicator lights are on the eyebrow, the easiest way to relocate them is a bracket from Headwinds for about $50.

You can easily see both brackets in my post in the fairings sticky.

I was afraid you were going to say that. I was hoping there was a way of avoiding ordering a different headlight.

I've got a bottom mount Headwinds that sticks forward 2" past stock with a stock bracket for sale. You can see the headlight in my earlier posts in the fairing section. I swapped for a flat headlight but just as easily could have swapped the bracket instead. I'll sell you the headlight with a stock bottom mount bracket for $85 plus shipping. You'd simply need to drill the triple tree hole and buy a bolt.

Any idea if it will work with a top mount headlight? I'm going to give them a call tomorrow.

You're not jumping in to anything seeing how this post is 5 years old!
