How do owners of the 2014-15 DL like the location of speedo and tach on the gas tank? Thinking that it's located too low compared to other models that have them at fork level.
If I had to come up with one thing I don't like about the LR its the tank mounted gauges. It's tricky to move your head down to look at them while riding. I've gotten better at it but would rather have them up higher and at the same level.

Yep thinking same thing since my Sportster guage(tac/speed)is mounted on handlebars.
I've been wanting to move them up to the bars. My prob is what to do with the two holes in the tank dash... If I can come up with something short of buying a FXD tank, I'd be all over it.
Don't have a LR, but do have a Switchback. I would very much like the guages mounted to the handlebar vs. on the tank. I DO NOT like looking down at the tank for instrument info.

As you can see from these photos, mine was on the tank and it was a drag always having to look down to see the speedo.
I moved the key switch down to where it is on the FXD and bar mounted the gauges and then modified an old FXR gas tank to fit the Dyna and had it powder coated and put it on.
Much better!
This was during the transition, still had the originals in place and had the bar mounted ones on.
