Default Vegas/Laughlin Ride

Me and a friend just got back last night. 1255 miles round trip, we left wed night after work rode to Bakersfield got some shut-eye the rode thru to Vegas on thurs morning, both bikes ran great (I have the dyna and he has a road glide). We stayed in Vegas and rode to Laughlin on friday. Got to check out the Hoover Dam, rode thru Arizona, lots of beer, and of course the nudie bar! This was my first long road trip on my bike and quickly found out a stock lowrider seat is made for cruising not long haul rides so I think a sundowner seat is in order for my next trip. Riding in 6th gear thru the desert was the best, good mileage even at 85mph. The quiet baffles worked out well, no ringing ears after a long ride. We left Vegas at 8am sunday and I was home by 6:15pm, 5 gas stops and a lunch break. I just got back and already looking foward to next year.

I LEFT AT 10:30AM FROM LAUGHLIN AND DIDNT GET HOME TO LAKE ELSINORE UNTIL 9PM. HAD A GREAT TIME GOIN TO LAUGHLIN BUT THE RIDE HOME WAS HELL. AT LEAST IT FELT LIKE HELL GOING THROUGH THE MOJAVE. A 4 HOUR TRIP ENDED UP BEING A 11 HR TRIP BECAUSE OF CONSTRUCTION AND SOME GUY DUMPED HIS BIKE. ANYWAYS THIS WAS MY FIRST ROAD TRIP ON MY NEW 07 STREET BOB AND MAN I GOTTA TELL YOU THAT STOCK SEAT HURTS LIKE HELL AFTER A WHILE. IM DEFINATLY GETTING THAT SUNDOWNER SEAT NEXT.

$3.89 for 91 super, damn those high desert gas prices...

I spent $102.62 total on gas, (1255 miles, 6th gear crusing, 80+ mph) I should have kept track of the miles to get some mpg #'s.

Nice job on the SuperGlide mDog.

Haven't seen that Handlebar/speedo treatment before.

You live right up the road from me. I'm in Murrieta. I didn't go this year, but maybe next year. Sorry to hear of the crappy long ride home.
