RE: Squealing noise from rear
ORIGINAL: romac
When I'm out on the highway I get a squealing noise that seems to be coming from the rear of the bike.
Has any one experienced this? Could it be from the read brakes?
TIA

lightly press the rear brake pedal.
Notice any change in the squeal??
If not, it is not the read brake.
Report back after checking this,
and we go from there.

RE: Squealing noise from rear
Mine seems to squeel/chirp whenever I have a passenger on, (no its not her, lol) and the pitch and loudness of the sound changes (usually increases) whenever I hit a bump. I tightened the belt last season a bit(brought it up to suggested adjustement as it was a bit loose) and this seemed to help, but the squeel/chirp is back. It does this with or without the belt guards on, and the belt seems to be tracking on the cog about right. The belt shows no sign of unusual wear either.
