Default Started my own fairing today

Been debating a Batwing or quarter fairing. Had an old Wixim fairing but decided to go my own route. Here's what I started with:

Decided I didn't like the side holes and the inside was going to take quite a bit of work the way they had the mounts laid out. So with some taping off, a beer and a dremel with a high speed cutter I went to town on it. Here it is now:

Then I trimmed the headlight hole an 1/8" and now it fits snug around the headlight retaining ring. So here it's the beginning of an journey I'm looking forward to:

Not in a hurry to get it done as the summer is upon us and lots of riding to do, but will be visiting this project quite frequently. Updates to come over the following months.

Yeah but I'd rather not conform to the masses. Why not think outside the box and make it your own. That's what we are all trying to do right?

I think it would be cool if someone made one out of flat steel pieces with an angular design, sort of like a f117 stealth fighter, of course it would be a lot of welding, & grinding & sanding, you could custom make the back side to pop in some cool gauges or speakers or something. maybe even put a radar detector in there, wouldn't that be cool..

if could be real simple. imagine a 3 sided pyrmid with the top cut off for the headlight,, would look cool..

A little too far outside the box, plus it would be really heavy if it was steel.

Wow, that was after just one beer? I haven't seen a haircut like that since boot camp.

Keep it going...

Yup, one beer and took a break while the kid and wife were sleeping and went to town on the thing. Have a high speed tungsten cutter made ease of the work. Went through it like butter!! Going to be slow progress as my creative mind comes in small waves haha.
