FXD into FLD questions and build thread
I got permission today to slowly compile the pieces via deals on Ebay/other sites for FL forks. Ideally, I'd like to get a complete switchback front end and slap it on there, but I'm afraid that's not in the budget.
I'll be posting a build thread, because everyone loves them. Its not gonna be nothing extravagant, but I'm hoping to finally compile a definitive list and thread for others wanting to do the same.
Got a few questions in which I will ask in here. My goal for the end build date is next spring to give me the max time to search for deals.
Here is what I'm working with. (Also just put on a MotoIllumination headlight)
Few initial questions.
1. If I find switchback triple trees, I wont have to shave the fork stop off my frame, correct?
2. Would I be able to reuse my springs, or would I need the wider springs? I'm assuming I'll need wider, but trying to minimize initial cost...which brings me to my third question;
3. As of right now, I'm planning on having to replace the entire front end. What, from my current 39mm front end, could I reuse? Im wondering things like brake caliper, rotor, springs, and fork oil (jk ).

I'm also kindof using this: http://www.kenandjudy.us/Harley%20Pi...tEnd/index.htm
as a guide.
Maybe I'll post this up in the FL-Dyna page on here and get some help as well. REALLY looking forward to this.

I have fat bob trees on my street bob and would consider buying you the mid glide trees if thats what you want and do the swap. I no longer have the original fender. If you want to use your fender you'd need the fat bob trees any way. The 49mm forks are recently rebuilt.
