Default Cycle shacks on a '15 LR

Just pulled the 2:1 pipes off my '15 Low Rider and installed 2:2 takeoff pipes from a '15 street Bob, with cycle shack slip ons. They sound great, are cooler as the rear pipe isn't running down my leg, and I love the sound. However the decel pop is highly amplified, due to the lack of cat and the far more open muffler of the cycle shacks. I'm bringing her into the dealer for the 1K service on Thurs, so I'm probably going to have them do the $150 stage 1 download. Hopefully it will clear that up. I also have a SE air cleaner that I'll throw on after the download.

This way I can eventually get a FP3 or a Dynojet power vision and I can save the stage 1 map so if I ever need to bring it in for a warrantee job related to the EFI I can reload the factory stage 1 map. With that they won't see a more aggressive map and they can't pull the "warrantee voided" trick.

Amazon has the FP3 for $332 delivered next day, which is very tempting. Otherwise it'll be the PV from fuelmoto - $500

I'll get photos tomorrow

The Cycle Shack slip on pipes are definitely the best bang for the buck upgrade I've done. Mine popped like crazy too when I first put them on. Took me about a half hour or 45 minutes to get the decel popping to a minimum. It's still pops some but I kinda like it.

What was your solution?

Mine's carbed. I just had to back the air fuel mixture screw out on the carb until I found the sweet spot. The new efi bikes aren't so easy.

Carbs. So much simpler... I miss them sometimes.

Personally i wouldn't throw $150 at a dyno tune just to then throw on an A/C and then a tuner. I believe the PV wil save the stock tune if you needed it. So put that towards the Tuner and you're business.

Well, my paranoid thinking gave me this logic: If I have a fueling related problem, and the dealer sees an aftermarket map, they could void my warrantee. If I reload the stock map and bring it in, they void my warrantee for having a lean condition - stage 1 components but no stage 1 map. So I pay the $150 for the dealer stage 1 map, which I can reload if I need to bring it in, and no warrantee worry.

That's my logic. I'm basically wasting $150 for an insurance policy...

Directcycleparts had the fp3 for 299. It should almost completely eliminate the pop.

If it is going to be a long time before you get a real tuner then I'd pop for the stage 1 download just to make it a little richer and cooler. But if I was going to get a tuner two weeks to a month down the road I wouldn't waste the money. The dealership probably isn't going to ever look at you map with a flash tuner for warranty anyway
