Default Selling - Fair price for a 2012 Super Glide Custom with 10k miles

Not many extras - just an engine guard, a sissy bar and a luggage rack. New bearings put in both wheels at 6000 miles and new tires at 9200 miles. A dealership is offering 8k in certified funds. I know I can do better if I wait it out and sit on it, but I'd like to be done with this sooner than later. So I am seriously considering this if it is fair for the buyer being a dealership. With zero hassles.

Am I right in my thinking, given my circumstance?

Sounds like a good price to me.

That's more than a fair price. At least in my area. What color?

I wouldn't be surprised if the dealer gets 10.5 to 11.5 just based on what dealers are asking for similar year/mileage fxdc models here.

A private buyer in their right mind would LOVE to have that bike for 9K

That's a good deal but bearings in both wheels at 6,000? Was it underwater?

It's Vivid Black. This is the basic bike. I forgot to mention I also had a seat upgrade to a Harley two up Sundowner as well as the stuff I mentioned in the OP.

The dealer was good about replacing those at cost. I only weigh 205-210 so it was not my fat butt. I suspect a bad batch of bearings. In any event, this bike is basic, but we'll cared for with all maintenance done with all synthetic oils/fluids.

No water required.. the front wheel bearings on my 2012 FXDC started whining at around 2.5K.. esp. in left hand sweepers.. the newer bearings IMO are junk..

to the OP... and as for the price on a base bike with a few gee gaws.. thats an ok price.. the stealers or the insurance company will tell you when you trade one in or mash it up that.. "well all of your add-ons arent worth anything and we can only give you book on the bike as is" So I tell stealers.. dont try to charge me for any add ons.. (I will walk on a deal and have many times.. they need to sell if far worse than I need to buy it) and or I have a rider with my insurance company that covers most of my 'extras'... book it out on NADA if you're not sure..

I did book it and the price is fair or even good, if not exceptional. I am OK with the sale and the guy is emailing me a photocopy of the check and the bank it is drawn on so I can verify funds before they pick it up later today. I Googled the dealership and looked at the place via "street view" and indeed, he has a few Harleys sitting at the front of the lot for sale so I am convinced the guy and the offer is legit.

The dealership is 4 hours northwest of here, so I'll have some time to verify things further. Still, I'll be photographing the guys picking it up, the truck and trailer they are loading it on along with all license plates and so on "just in case" I need to go and kick someone's *** and involve the law lol...

I appreciate everyone's responses here. Although I will miss my bike, it's just what I need to do right now.
