OP, the Dyna isn't a down grade, its a change in the way of life.

A dealer sales rep I spoke with recently said he's seeing more and more older riders move from touring bikes to Dynas because they want something lighter.

 

I traded in a Road King to get my 14 Low Rider. The Dyna is a lot more fun to ride. I seem to take it out of the garage more often for short rides. I do miss riding with floorboards. I'm 5'11'' and felt a lot more comfortable with them. I might get forwards. Also, there are times I miss the cruise control and riding two up is not as nice. Overall, if you are not putting in lots of long days I don't think you will miss the touring bike.

 

If someone gave me a touring bike, I'd sell it and buy more stuff for my SB.
