RB Racing LSR 2 into 1 or 2 into 1 Blackhole
Hi, I am new to the forum
I have a 99 FXDWG with the RB Racing LSR 2 into 1 Blackhole exhaust.. I bought the bike with it on it..I was wondering if anybody is running the RB Racing LSR 2 into 1.. How do they sound? The Blackhole is a great pipe awesome power.. It has a good sound but it is mellow sounding.. What do the regular LSR 2 into 1 sound like? I plan on buying the LSR 2 into 1 and selling the Blackhole.. Just curious before Ipurchase one for my bike..
Thanks

RE: RB Racing LSR 2 into 1 or 2 into 1 Blackhole
I am running the V & H Pro Pipe 2-1. The 2-1's have a different sound, imho. It really sounds great under load and gets pretty loud. I am running the quieter baffle too. At cruising sound is a bit quieter. On both sides tho, it has this mono type of roar rather than the duo tone of running one of the 2 pipe systems. I have thought about going back to the more conventional types, but this 2-1 makes so much low end I'm not sure I want to lose that.

Now that I have been putting miles on this new bike of mine..About 200 this weekend.. With the RB Racing 2/1 Blackhole, My ears don't ring at all, plus I have been getting alot of compliments on the way they look and sound, I am sorrta beginning to like the mellow rumble they create. Not sure what I am going to do yet..I am a loud pipe guy trying to get use to this pipe

Someone here has the LSR's. I love the looks of them and wish I held out for them instead of the bassani's, but patience isn't a virtue I always follow[:@]. Here's a pic of his bike. Hopefully someone will post his name since old age is getting to me. I forgot, he has the springer bob. That should narrow it down a bit.

I saw this threadshortly after you posted itand didn't comment right away because it's just dang hard to describe the sound of an exhaust. It is NOT quiet, that's for sure. It's definitely not as loud as any true drag pipes I've ever heard though. Everyone has their threshold and fortunately for me, these are below my threshold for "obnoxious". Just as a reference, I put drag pipes easily beyond the obnoxious category. If I was forced to make a guess,I would say this exhaustis just a little louder than the SEII slip-ons.
I've only heardmy bikefrom the saddle (other than idling) so that makes it a bit difficult to compare to others. It has a different sound to it, a little more "crack" and a little less "rumble". Perhaps some might not like it when idling or putting around, but I seriously doubt anyone wouldn't enjoy the sound of this exhaust when under serious acceleration. It IS a performance exhaust and it SOUNDS like a performance exhaust. It has an edgy snarl to it.
There are times when I wish I could quiet it down a bit like when I leave my neighborhood early in the morning or come in late at night, but a wide-open-throttle blast ALWAYS puts a smile on my face. I've always thought exhaust tone was much more important than exhaust volume. It sounds like you are looking at a choice between more than just volume, but also a choice between a smooth, mellow rumble and an edgy, snarly, cracking type of exhaust sound. Personally, I'd make my choice more on the tone issue than the volume part of it.
The blackhole definitely has aunique look, but I guess the standard LSR does too. Too bad video/audio samples won't work too well for comparison (unless you can duplicate the environment and conditions).

Yeah the Blackholes are expensive ..especially with the o2 sensor and heat shields 875 pipe and 299 O2 sensor and like about 150 for heat sheilds... I am leaning towards getting the LSR and using my heat sheilds..I read on the site that the make a slash cut with the 3inch tailpipe like the blackhole...that way i can still use my O2 sensor.. I sent them a email asking..
I found video of the sound at Idleof the LSR 2/1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y-GQc7r3dHE I like the sound... the video sound is a little weird though

O.K., I listened to the youtube file and the sound was different. After listening, the bassani's are louder. I like the look of the LSR's. I think they are the best looking 2-1 pipe out there for the 06/07 Dynas. But, after listening to that sound file, I am much happier with the sound of the basani's. I still love the look of kpreese's ride. One of the best out there.
