Instead of the ratchet you could just hold the torx tightly in a vise grip just to get them loose, but change the torx out for allen heads if you put the bracket back on.
Yea my plan was to change the torx with Allen heads. Going to try the chisel tomorrow and if that doesn't work out for me I'll just cut the torx. Thanks!

The guy I bought my 05 from took em off. Had a fit getting a new one on.
If your headers are made for it use it. On the other bike I just took out 2 of the bolts so I could hinge it out of the way. Never know might need one someday.

That's what I was going to suggest. Weather torx or Allen head, a bit will always fit in a small box wrench to get in really tight spots.

When I upgraded my exhaust on my 2011 Street Bob I had the same issue. I just decided to leave it there. I painted mine black and you can barely tell there's an unused bracket now.

If space allows and it does not become an obstruction , then it is a good idea to leave the brace there.

Painted mine black after trying to get it loose for about an hour, haven't seen it or thought about since...until now.

Save yourself a lot of headache and just get some black touch up paint and color your troubles away!

It works fine and I'm ****!

I just removed that bracket this weekend for my new exhaust. I took a torx socket and hammered out the bit, and I used a 1/4 wrench to turn the bit. I was able to remove all the screws using that method, it took me a bit to get it off. I had my wife hold the clutch cable out of the way.
