Default Tire Replacement

Got my bike out last weekend and my rear tire was flat. Filled it up and the next day it was flat again. Found a 3/4" piece of steal in tire so have to replace it. My local dealer is booked up till May so will try to remove thewheel myself . Was wondering if there is anything I should watch out for when removing and reinstalling rear wheel. It's a 2005 Super Glide Custom. Any advice would be appreciated.

Scott, read the manual, you'll be fine.

Be sure to put some anti seize on the axle when you reinstall.
Hopefuly the factory did when it was first installed.

As mud stated hopefully they used antisieze on the axle I know that my rear axle was rusted in and that was just in the first 8 months.
Do you have a lift? It is a definate lifesaver.

If you are going to use a lift. Careful when the weight comes off the rear. It will be front heavy.

Thanks for the replies. Removed rear wheel on Sat. Only took me 5 min the Bolt came out easy. Removed belt guard and removed shock bolts loosened tightener bolts 3 turns eachand lifted bike with jack. This lowered rear wheel and I could slide the bolt out. Yes remembered to strap bike to Jack.Did the oppositeto install.
