What are you using as your LED 1157 taillight bulb replacement for a smoked lens rear tail? Not integrating the turn signals, this is for the brake light only.

I was very happy with the Custom Dynamics LED lights and smoked lenses.

 

Red LED replacement bulbs from the local parts house. 1157s like you are asking about. Inexpensive and they work. I did not need anything else to run them either. Installed bulbs then used the turn signals. They flashed fast for a minute then went to normal.

 

I don't have any turn signals on my bike, so not concerned about the flash. Just have the smoked tail light lens and need to go to a red LED 1157 bulb…want to make sure my brake light is real bright. Deciding if it is brighter to have the Radiantz Cluster style with all the LED's facing back or the SuperBrightLED Tower style to allow the lights to reflect off the light housing.

Just realized that the you can see the bulb through the smoke lens…now leaning toward the Radiantz style, so you don't see those little yellow LED tabs on the SuperBrightLED Tower style.

 

I just installed the Kuryakyn LED tail light. Took about 1 minute - two screws and a plug. So much brighter then any 1157 bulb, and can be had full size, lay down, smoked, etc. Really excellent. Never liked LED replacement bulbs, especially the round, one-way facing bulbs. Could always see the round ring of LED's with no reflecting of the housing. Downside - $100 vs. $3...
