I have decided to go witha memphis shade slim for my low rider, but I am holding off because I heard they are coming out with a new quick release system. I called memhis shades and the woman was extremely rude. She stated that they were coming out with a new release system but did not have a timeframe for harley. Anyone have better info?

I thought the Memphis Slims already were quick release. Was there something wrong with their old design? Not meaning to hijack, but I'm looking to get one of those windshields.

 

I'm looking at one of those Memphis windshields myself. It's either that or one of the HD ones for me.

 

Their website says they have a new tool-less detachable mount for Yamaha XV1900. No mention of anything else. Their present mounting system requires an allen wrench to take the windshield off and it leaves the docking hardware on your forks. Not a big deal for me as I leave it on all the time. Takes less than a minute to remove it if you want to. Cost is probably half (discounted) what a comparable Harley windshield would be.

 

I'm watching an auction right now on eBay for a Memphis windshield for $194.99 plus $13 for shipping that beats hell out of the HD price on the quick release compact lo profile smoked windshield. Catalog $359.95, Zanottis price is $287.56 with $20.53 for shipping for a ttl. of $308.09. I really like the looks of the HD windshield more, but that Memphis is quite a bit cheaper (right at $100).
