anyone know what the stock tire on an 2008 super glide was? are they just run of the mill Dunlops or did they have HD embossed in the sidewall? Looking at one on Craigslist that claims to only have 1700 miles on a 2 owner bike ! While it seems to be pretty clean not sure of the accuracy of such a claim, a lot of the things that I would normally look at have been changed ( not unusual ) grips, pegs, seat but one thing that should still be stock are the tires. thanks

 

The front is a Dunlop 100/90 R19, rear is 160/70 R17. Compare the sizes to what's on there now, also look at the "born on" date. I don't recall any HD branding on those stock tires, unless it changed from 07.
I can see where the owner might have changed out the stock tires, they pretty much sucked. Plus, after a few years and lack of use they can dry out.

 

My 2009 Super Glide has the stock tires and they are Dunlop "Harley Davidson" branded tires!

 

lol.. agreed.. the stock tires suck on the FXDC... I've switched my rear tire to the D407, which is expensive as hell now... but I get almost 14-15K out of it (no ****).. and the front over to a Michelin Commander. Bike does everything I ask it to do.

 

Are you sure you aren't using a locomotive steel wheel!

 

I know.. sounds funky... but honest.. I get some fantastic mileage using that D407 touring tire: 170/60-17.
