i have the oem fwd controls on my 2014 fxdb. im looking to get into mid controls.... trade????

 

I guess I'm too tall. 6' 3, 34" inseam, and I can't imagine riding a bike with mids for more than 5 min. It hurts.

But its what YOU want, no one can say what will work for you, except you.

I realize you are asking for advice, and really, you got a try a few. Test ride simmilar bikes if you can with mids and forwards. See what feels good.

When I got mine it had the mids on it but my legs cramped up something fierce. I had ordered the forwards and had to wait for them to get in. I can't imagine riding without them...

 

I got +3 forwards for my HDMM, it stretches me out really comfortably, no need for pegs... They also function as a theft preventer, half the people I know can't even reach the dang things. The drawback is it's very hard to lift your butt when you see a pothole coming that you cannot avoid; especially on a rigid.

 

I have a 29" inseam, purchased my Low rider with forwards on it, could not get thoes dam things off fast enough. I even had to modify my highway pegs that are mounted on my engine guard. Had to move them a tad closer, so i didn't have to reach for them.
I love my mids. But you'll have to actually sit on some machines and see how they feel, Its really the only way to tell for yourself. Good luck.

what ever feels the most comfortable for you. at 5'7", the mids on the FXDL are great for me although a guy much taller than me I could see where the forwards would be better.

 

so i am 5' 10 1/2" and am cramped on mids so i am leaning toward forwards thanks guys for all your suggestions and comments

 

no i think i am going to keep just in case i upgrade to a different dyna can put them back on thanks though

 

Mine are actually +3 as well. The mini-apes help me get my **** off the saddle when I need to, but I would not like to have hold myself up for too long.

 

Like most have said.. it comes down to what feels comfortable for you. As for the comments of needing mids for aggressive riding... I disagree heartily.. I have no issues riding aggressively with forward controls.

I also have Kury SwingWing pegs, which function like a mini-board when folded in, and like a set of highyway pegs when folded out.
