I`ve had the vinyl bare bones for over 7 years and love it. Ive never done anything more than wipe it off with a rag and it still looks new. Good luck with your seat shopping

I've owned both. I prefer leather. Being more expensive isn't always the case. I only paid $200 for my Sick Saddles solo seat (upgraded to leather) which is less than alot of Vinyl seats out there.

All great input, minus OldEnuf and his Prius, I hope his 2000+ posts are more helpful. Everyone else thank you. Been away for military stuff, so it will be nice to start riding again

I wonder if he thinks you should get the leather trim with that Prius?

I have a barebones on my FXD, I went with vinyl because i ride every day in the summer so my bike spends a lot of time exposed to the elements. It sits in the rain a lot and I wanted a seat I could wipe with a towel and have ready to ride in seconds.

I do love leather though, I've been thinking about ordering a leather king cobra from le pera for 2-up trips.

In Cali, leather is a perfect choice.

That is what I am leaning towards. Because it rains so much out here. Lol. Actually I think we are going to get drenched this weekend

Dammit. My kids and I were going to repaint their dirt bikes. Oh well, they are already mud color anyway...
