Default Kuryakyn Swing Pegs all defective

I can't believe it! I ordered a set of Kuryakyn pegs, the new ones that just came out called swing pegs. Pretty awesome idea IMO. However, when I received them I noticed pitting underneath the chrome and it was visible from far. I returned them to the retailer and asked to send anotherset without the defect. The retailer called and said that every set has the same problem. He also called Kuryakyn and they told them that all of their castings for that particular set are like that. Basically, they said tough and that's the way it is. This is a pair of freaggin' $120 pegs. What a bunch of mother*&#$s. I got my money back, but lost the shipping and PayPal fee.

Sounds like the ebay seller was an autorized Kuryakyn dealer?
With a known problem they should have given you all of your $ back. A good reseller would have done it that way. A few more bucks out of their pocket shows they give a sh*t and care about you a a return customer.

I've heard about quality issues with Kyry parts. I've installed their ISO Grips and a set of wing passenger pegs. Luckily, no problems with them.

I have to agree with that, Now I did buy the inter primary cover they sell and I have to say that it looks good and no pitting but I think it's plastic. That's the only thing I will buy from Kuryakyn, Besides I don't like the look of most of there junk!

Were they the ringed style or the flame style?

Well, the seller was nice enough to replaced them with flamed switchblades. However, Kuryakyn's quality still dissapoints me. I installed them and went for a ride. They started rattling all over the place. I came home and took them apart only to find out that the bolts that hold the switchblade assembly to the main peg...were both loose. I was able to loctite and toruqe one of them, but the other side did not grab. I ended up taking a longer bolt and cutting it so that it would grab. What a bunch of crap this Kury stuff is. They have good ideas but the quality is not there...at all.

Good to know. Maybe I'll hold off on buying pegs (or anything else) from them.
