Default New rubber cant decide on size

So i picked up some mags and im gonna wrap em in night dragon rubber for the rear i cant decide on 160 or 180..if i stay 160 the front and rear will be cross plied if i go with the 180 rear is bias ply and front is cross ply.. theres a 170 which is radial ply..... i know the factory lets bikes leave the factory with cross ply on front radial in the rear..but i want matching tire construction for best ride possible.. is the 180 more or so for looks rather than performance?

Small enough for a tight fit but not so big it falls off.

Wider the rubber the harder it is to lean, not all people that ride with rubbers are leaners though some people like it straight up wide and get after it fast.

Damn Jonny, you've been absent for too long, you must be working hard up there!

What have you done if anything to your bike all this time!

While true a wider tire can make you work to get leaned into corners, I think a 180 is well within the good handling range. I think when you start getting up into the 200+ range is when handling starts going down hill. Most sports bikes run a 160-180 wide rear tire, even the moto GP bikes are running a 190-200 I believe, and they're pushing lean angles to the maximum....

I would run a 180, looks good and will have more traction due to a larger footprint. Handling differences will be negliagable coming from a 160.

My zx9r street bike had a 190 rear most litre bikes run 190s soo i dont think skinnier tires lean quicker into turns..but tire construction guys tire construction..if you dont know look it up..most say dont mix B with R but most fronts dont have the B or R which means cross ply..so does that leave you up to a bias or radial rear?

How's about rustling up some pics of your bike, I know I'm not the only one that wants to see some pics here

It's winter man, even pics of bikes on lifts is great cause if they can't be ridden then let them be tinkered with

Good to see you back.......now how 'bout those pics

see?? now i had the front picked out which omits the B or R and the rears are 160 omits the B or R so which would match front tire construction...the 180 screamin eagle dunlop wide tire kit is a bias ply...the night dragon 180 is a bias ply and i believe the switchback bikes or other harleys with wider rears come with radials..which are said to be the better performers...so again a can of worms that most overlook?
